What this is
A free calculation aid for California superior court deadlines. It shows the statute or rule it used and every counting step, so you can check the result yourself. It does not cover federal courts, other states, local rules or orders that change a deadline, and it does not know about court closures announced after it was built.
Not legal advice
Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship, and nothing on it is legal advice. Deadlines depend on facts the page cannot see. You are responsible for checking every date against the code, the rules of court, any court order and your own calendar before relying on it.
No warranty
The site is provided as is, without any warranty. The authors are not liable for any loss arising from its use, including a missed or miscalculated deadline, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Your documents stay on your device
When you drop a document, it is read by code running in your own browser. It is not uploaded, sent to any server or AI service, or stored after you close the page. The same is true of everything you type in.
What we count
If usage counting is turned on, we count page visits and the names of actions, such as "a document was read" or "a discovery deadline was calculated", with no cookies. We never record dates, answers, document text, file names or anything that identifies a case or a person. Counts are kept by a privacy-focused analytics service and used only to see whether the tool is useful.
Reporting a wrong date
"Report a wrong date" opens your own email with the calculation filled in. Nothing is sent unless you send it. Please remove anything confidential before you do.
Questions or corrections: use "Report a wrong date" on any result.
