Days California courts are closed, from CCP § 135 and Gov. Code § 6700. When a holiday falls on a weekend, CCP § 135 lets the Judicial Council pick another day to observe it. The published 2026 and 2027 court calendars move a Saturday holiday to the Friday before and a Sunday holiday to the Monday after, and this page does the same.

Not included: a day the Governor proclaims as a holiday, or a day the court closes unexpectedly (CCP § 12b treats a full-day office closure as a holiday). Check for these yourself.
